 On October 19 the local governors of the Caribbean Region signed the document that guarantees the beginning of the process towards becoming an Administration and Planning Region – RAP Caribe.
 
 This marks the beginning of the path towards regional autonomy in Colombia
 
 Benefits

 it is now possible for the departments of the region to come together to present projects that benefit the entire region.
 This puts an end to governors’ limitation of only being able to work for their own department
